Patchwork Needle Book

I have a pattern update to share with you!

Thank you for sharing your Patchwork Needle Books on social media! I loved seeing all the beautiful creations.  This needle book pattern was designed to be a simple foundation from which you can customize endlessly. Speaking of variations, I made one onf my own a while back and loved how it turned out.

Here's What I Did...

  • Added a sashiko-style stitch pattern on the patchwork before assembling the needlebook
  • Fell in love with making fabric yo-yos (so of course I had to include them!)
  • Made vertical pockets instead of horizontal ones
  • Hand-stitched around the felt pages for an extra cozy feel

Perfect for the Holidays

With the holidays approaching, it's the perfect tiem to start planning handmade gifts! These needle books sew up quickly, and make lovely presents for your sewing friends. I've added this bonus vertical-pocket variation to the original pattern so reach out to me if you haven't received a new downlolad notification.

You'll need the original Patchwork Needle Book pattern to make this vertical-pocket version.  Click HERE for the pattern.

What I Did Last Week...

  • It's been a super busy week - I moved my work area to a different part of the house, which means I currently can't find anything.
  • All I managed was to embellish my old indigo-dyed pouch using fabric scraps I uncovered during the move.  It wasn't in the plan, but sometimes those spontaneous projects are the most satisfying.  This round pouch is one of my favourite patterns from my early pattern-making days.  You can fidn the pattern HERE

What Else...

  • Working on my latest YouTube video...
  • My workspace is now on two floors - can I make it work?
  • Making a list of old patterns to update
  • Drafting my 2026 project list (both the wish list and the realistic version)
How do you plan for your projects? My sister always finishes a project before starting another. Honestly, I don't know how she does it - I'm definitely the type who has a lot of works-in-progress (and more than a few abandoned ones too). What about you?

I hope you are having a lovely day, filled with creative ideas to inspire you to make something and have fun. Happy Sewing!

Thank you for followng my journey.
With love,

Darae
